Session Six: Beyond Body, Mind and Soul – Designing Your Life

Your thoughts and opinions are what construes your life.

If you think that something is difficult then it is so and if you think that it will be easy you will find ease. The source of happiness comes from within us, not from outside of us.

To design your life means creating your life the way you want it. It is making your life a life that works for you enabling you to be and have what you would like. It is not based on what society or anyone else thinks your life should be like.

Often times we have decided our life is a certain way. If we have decided our life is a struggle we have made a decision and reached a conclusion. A conclusion is generally final. Once we have a final opinion of what our life is then it becomes very difficult to change it. What if you did not define your life in a particular way? Once you do not have a set definition you can change your life and look to see what other options are available. If you have no firm definition this puts you into a situation whereby you can find other things to show up in your life.

Once you find inner happiness you raise the vibration at which you function and you will be able to do things in a stress-free manner. Without stress, there is more room for creativity!

What makes a person HAPPY?

In order to design your life, you have to find that which brings you happiness.

If happiness comes from someone else, something else, somewhere else or sometime else then you are dependent on an external source. This means you have to keep searching for those things that make you happy – What if you never find them? And if you do find them, how do you know they will actually make you happy?

True and real happiness comes from within.

Find that feeling of happiness that comes from within no matter what is happening around you.

Find the things that make you happy and do those things. Commit to yourself. Take responsibility for your own well-being, it is no one else’s responsibility; not your employer’s, your manager, your spouse, your children, your parents, your siblings or your friends. When you are happy you create happiness for those around you. The more things you are grateful for the more things will show up for you to be grateful for.

What would you like your life to be like?

In order to create the life, you would like to have you need to imagine exactly what you would like your life to be like. For example, would you like your life to be fun, calm and flowing?

What is your life like currently?

What would you like to have in your life?

How many of those things do you have in your life currently?

Set objectives for yourself. Once you know what you would like your life to be like and what you would like to have in your life – set targets. Make your targets realistic and attainable. Set action steps that you will need to do in order to attain your targets. Review these periodically, generally, every quarter as this is a fair time period to implement your actions and to see the results you are achieving.

Once you review your targets you can then set new targets. If you have not reached your targets DO NOT beat yourself up! DO NOT make yourself wrong! Simply assess why targets were not met, what you require to meet these targets and start afresh.

You are in charge of your life. You are the architect and designer. You get to make the plans and change them to fit the way you want.

Remember you always have a choice! You are the designer of your life!
